Self Care activities are routines most of us do on a daily basis but it becomes more of a task than a practice when we do not acknowledge its worth. These tasks can feel like mundane everyday chores when we are not seeing the blessing in it. This can be done even at home and may be more appreciated when done by you. Bathing, cooking, and other activities like styling your hair can all be seen as Self Care but not if we are not taking the time to enjoy it, experience it and love on ourselves. 

Complete at least one of the following Self Care practices from below:

Self Care is important for practicing Self Love and Healing. It can help the body, mind and Soul recover, rejuvenate and relax. Try finding an activities that helps you practice Self Care regularly. For now, complete at least one of these Self Care activities within the next 24 hours.

 

A Relaxing Bath

at least 15 minutes of bathing

For this task get out your favorite bubble bath or bath salts. You may also want to add sound therapy or additional aroma therapy by playing soothing music or meditation sounds and lighting candles.

​

Block out any distractions from the the day and focus on this moment of cleansing and relaxation.

Do this Self Care routine for at least 15 minutes and take time to think about you and the love around you. This love around you can include anything from your loved ones to the loving air you're breathing in.

 

 A bath is a perfect place to shed the old you and rise into the new. 

 

A Home Cooked Meal

at least 30 minutes of dining

Think of your best home recipes and don't forget to grab the ingredients from the market or your garden.

 

In this task you will be preparing a meal for yourself (and possibly your family but focus on you). This task is not about cooking a great meal, it is about enjoying it.  Relax and dine in. During this time be sure to appreciate all the blessings around you, even if it only seems to be nourishment.

For this meal try adding aroma and sound therapy by playing soft music and lighting fragrant candles. The additional sensory will enhance the experience and have you appreciate this time for you.

* Foot Soaking:

Foot soaking and handwashing are imperative to maintaining health. Wash hands and feet regularly but not excessively as the feet are the most absorbent part of the body and your hands can have the most contact with the environment. So be careful where you step and what you touch, you could be absorbing an unhealthy energy. 

 

One more thing: As you grow in Self Love, consider sharing these Self Care times with others. Always be sure to remember yourself but once you have fell in love with you, it is a good idea to share that love with another. 

 

A Pampering Session

at least 20 minutes of pampering

​

Men and women alike; Manicure, pedicure, face mask which ever you desire it is time for a pampering session. Choose just one or try doing all three at home! 

​

This Self Care practice can just include the simplest hand, foot and face cleansing to the most expert nail designs and skin exfoliants. Whatever you do you may want to get some music playing and smiles on for taking care of you.

​

While you are pampering yourself be sure to think about all the great success you have experienced through your journey. Take the time to appreciate yourself for being you.
